1 John 5:13 "I write these things to you who believe in the Son of God so that you may realise that you have eternal life."
John tells us that "all who believe that Jesus is the Saviour are born of God."
We have met Jesus, believed in him, accepted him, and received new life as his children.
God has given us eternal life, even if we don't feel it or see any change.
Loving God means believing in Him, believing His Word, and obeying and following it.
But it is impossible to achieve this by human effort alone.
Man has no merit to offer to God on his own.
Christ is the fountain of life, the only guarantee for our salvation and the great source of immortality.
Christ is the Founder and Finisher of our faith.
Without His power we are nothing, but we have a part to play.
That means that we cooperate with God in oneness.
To be united and cooperate means to look up to God at all times, to trust him completely, to surrender everything to him, and to share our joy, gratitude, and hope in the certainty that he will complete it all.
Eternal life does not mean immortality, but living with God in reality.
We are already saved.
Soon Jesus will come for us!
