Gospel Reflections #646: Only Jesus

Revelation 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

Jesus clearly indicates to us about his second coming, the final fulfilment of his plan for the salvation of humanity.

He testifies to us that Jesus will come soon, that he will come with rewards, that he is the beginning and the end, and that he will make it clear whether we will ultimately be on his side or not.

Jesus came to our world as a member of David's family, but he is the 'stone without hands' of Daniel's prophecy, the heavenly ruler who became a man and entered the human genealogy.

Only Jesus can atone for our sins and change our hearts, and even when we have not asked him to, he has approached us and is still working to help us realise that he is indispensable to us. Jesus is our light.

Jesus is our light and the bright star that pours peace into us by always looking up to him.
