Rom 5:8 "But while we were still sinners, God showed his love for us by dying for us in Christ."
God did not show His love for us when we loved Him, but He first showed His love for us.
God's love is not just a fluffy feeling, but more real, a hope for us based on Christ's sacrifice.
We have not been given love because we asked God for it, but from the time when we did not ask for love at all, and even from the time when we seemed to have rejected Him, He has shown us His love and demonstrated that love in a very real way.
As we come to understand a little more about Christ's sacrifice and God's love, we are moved by God's love to want to respond to His greatest gift.
God's love is exactly the same as it was at this time, and even more so, He is still working to show His love for us everywhere in every way.
Our God is a God who rules over heaven and earth, yet He is a God who sacrifices us like dust and works in us to make us know how much His love for us is.
If we have received even a little of God's love, we should respond by sharing our gratitude and joy with others.
