Matthew 3:17 “Then a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

This was heard from heaven when Jesus was baptized in water, but I believe that Heavenly Father did not say this because Jesus was baptized, but because it showed His anguish over the fulfillment of God's plan for Jesus and His love for Him.

Heavenly Father loved the world and us sinners as much as he loved Jesus.

His love for Jesus and our love for each other is not higher or lower, but equal.

That is God's love.

God also speaks to us.

You are my beloved Son, the man after my own heart. So come back to me. I am waiting for you. I will be waiting for you.

Let's respond to that message.

Even if we can't do anything, even if we don't do well, even if we keep making mistakes, even if we keep getting lost, we turn to God when we recognize His voice, and that is the first step toward returning to Him.

God has been telling us about His love for us for years and decades without giving up, just to make us turn around.
