Hebrews 4:9 “So the Sabbath rest is left to God's people."
We have been taught that the Sabbath is a memorial of God's creation and redemption, that God has prepared for us to share His joy with us, His creatures.
To take away the Sabbath means to take away the truth of our creation.
Without the Sabbath, we can easily take control of our lives and become our own gods in our own lives.
God knows that we easily forget Him and make ourselves gods, so He protects us from the effects of sin by keeping the Sabbath.
I believe that even in Old Testament times, people remembered what God had done on the Sabbath, confirming and sharing with each other what God is like, thereby strengthening their confidence in Him.
The Sabbath teaches us to rely on God rather than on our own efforts.
And we are allowed to rest in God's domain, enjoy fellowship with Him, and let Him nurture our faith by rejoicing in Him.
Let us share with God's family how God has worked in our weekly walk on the Sabbath to confirm and assure us that God is still working for us, and let our joy grow.
We will never be abandoned by the God who loves us so much.
God does His best to protect our hearts from temptations to trust in Him.
Let us share, talk, and praise our God more!
