Proverbs 6:20-22 "My son, keep your father's commandments. Do not neglect your mother's teaching. Tie it always to your heart / And wrap it around your neck. It will guide your steps, watch over you as you lie down, and speak to you when you awake."
I feel that sometimes we push our faith on our families because we want them to have faith.
We may be forcing our families to believe that having faith is true happiness.
Our faith is a relationship between each individual and God. We can only choose God for ourselves when each of us has experienced an encounter with Him, experienced His forgiveness, and experienced being nurtured in His love.
We can have faith by choosing God of our own will, without being forced to do so by anyone.
For this reason, we need to know and seek God in our daily lives, what He is like to me, and what and how He has done for me.
The more we know God, the more we can also recognize that it is much wiser to be a humble Christian than to hold a high position in this world.
We will begin to run to God and jump into His love. And we will be willing to obey God's commandments.
God's commandments are to love God and others.
People who are loved by God will want to love others.
In order for this to happen, we should first let God fill our hearts with His love.
God does not expect anything in return from us. Even if we give nothing back to God, He loves us.
If we ask, He will give. That is God's grace.
