Isaiah 21:11 A prophecy against Dumah, Someone calls to me from Seir, “Watchman, what is left of the night? Watchman, what is left of the night?”
Judah's neighbors were engaged in vigorous diplomatic activity in response to the Assyrian threat. So Seir (Edom) sent a messenger to Judah as well, asking,
"What time is it? When will the Assyrian threat pass, and when will we be liberated from Assyria in the morning?
If a threat is placed in front of us, we too will look for it to disappear.
This verse is followed by Isaiah's answer to this.
Isaiah says, "Morning cometh, and then cometh another night," referring to the fact that Babylon will come after Assyria is gone.
The various events that happen to us may not disappear either.
God does not cause or stop the various events that happen to us.
They are the result of our choices in a world of sin.
They are natural consequences that can happen in a world of sin.
God is always there for the anxiety and fear we experience in such events. God is not working on the events that happen to us, but on our hearts.
We murmur the question, "Until when?" in our anxiety and fear.
God is always there for us and tells us, "Do not be afraid.”
When we hear of end-time prophecies, we may feel anxious and fearful, and we may feel impatient, but it is precisely at such times that we should remember who God is and focus on that.
God is with us to the end, healing and encouraging us. He will surely give us hope. God is our escape and our healing.
When we run to Him, He will let us rest in the shade of His wings.
Because we are God's children, God's beloved children, we can fly to Him just as we are!
The question is, "For how long?" By being with God for that period of time, we are freed from anxiety and fear.
