Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to whom He will."
When the angels came to the shepherds and announced the good news of the birth of the Savior of the world, the heavenly choir sang, thus, about the peace that the Messiah would bring.
Not peace in the sense of "no war" or "no problems," but peace within our hearts, knowing that we are "reconciled to God."
God gave birth to Jesus to get us back, and He freed us from our sins by the cross, as a ransom for our sins. After God freed us, He did not tell us to wait and do our best on our own until He came for us.
The peace of "reconciliation with God" means that God is always with us.
Even when we lose our way, even when we are separated from God, God does not condemn us, does not punish us, but always speaks to us, staying close to us. No matter how much everyone says bad things about us or makes fun of us, God does not treat us that way.
He treats us as His children. He tells us, "Go in peace." The peace in our hearts depends on whether we look only at reality, at the invisible God, or at God's promises. God gave Jesus to us to bring peace to our hearts.
The peace in our hearts will eventually transition into a miracle of reality.
That is God's work.
